A Wink at the World: AIESEC Cultural Project
Background
The multicultural background of Mauritius is quite renowned. Its 1.3million population is made up of Indians, Muslims and Chinese descendants to name a few. Nevertheless, the Mauritian population does not seem to realize its luck and does not take the opportunity to get to know more about other cultures. Most people THINK they know different cultures but in the end, they know only the tip of the iceberg.
This is why we have decided to launch this cultural project with the help of 15 International students called A Wink at the World.
Aim of A Wink at the World
To make Mauritians a citizen of the world; make the society less self-centered and more interested and open to get to know about other cultures.
Both Interns and people impacted end up enriched with different cultures they never even thought of.
Objectives of the project:
Trigger curiosity among the population and make them eager to learn more about other cultures.
Give an example to young population and create young leaders who will work and impact the society.
Mobilise human resources to help attain our target.
Promote other cultures different from those in Mauritius so as to enable society to have an open mindset.
Create cultural understanding through exchange and thus promoting peace and fulfillment of humankinds potential (AIESEC vision)
Create a win-win situation for Interns and Mauritians where both will increase their knowledge of the world’s different cultures.
We gonna inform you with all the stuff we are doing in amazing Mauritius and share all our experiences with you!
